At the end of last year, Bandai Namco registered a new trademark for Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series in the UK. Today it was revealed this is a remastered collection of Klonoa: Door to Phantomile and Klonoa 2: Lunatea’s Veil, and it’s coming to PS5 and PS4 soon.
When will Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series be released?
Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series will be released on PS5 and PS4 “soon”. The collection will be released first on Nintendo Switch on July 8, so expect the PlayStation consoles to get the games sometime towards the latter end of 2022. More information on platforms other than the Switch has been promised soon.
Klonoa: Door to Phantomile was first released on PlayStation in 1997. The 2.5D platformer put players in the shoes of the titular Klonoa as he teamed up with his friend, Huepow, to prevent an evil spirit from filling the world of Phantomile with nightmares. Now celebrating its 25th anniversary, both the first game and Klonoa 2, where Klonoa collaborated with more friends to save the world of Lunatea, will be remastered for modern day consoles.
Very few details about the remaster collection have been revealed, although the game’s trailer seems to suggest the graphics have had a bit of an upgrade. The collection will include adjustable difficulty levels and there will also be co-op for two players. Hopefully more details are revealed soon.
In other news, The Wolf Among Us 2 will be appearing on PS5 and PS4 in 2023 and is set six months after the events of the first season. The game will be released across five episodes but the first of those won’t be released until all of them have finished development. Elsewhere, Gran Turismo Sophy is a superhuman AI agent that will be added to future Gran Turismo games, although it’s unlikely to be found in Gran Turismo 7.
